Two-Days Training of Teachers to raise their knowledge and awareness on Rain-Water Harvesting systems and WASH in School practices, February 15-16, 2024

Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources in collaboration with Unicef arranged two days training program of Teachers of Islamabad Model schools to raise their knowledge and awareness on Rainwater Harvesting Systems and WASH on 15th -16th February, 2024.
Dr. Hifza Rasheed, Director General PCRWR +presented opening remarks and a brief Overview of challenges, and objectives related to Health and Hygiene. She highlighted that Twenty-four Regional/ District labs of PCRWR have adopted 48 schools to develop clean green environment, ensuring safe drinking water and improvement of WASH practices in schools. Moreover, rain water harvesting systems are installed in schools to conserve water.
Dr. Naheed Rajper, Unicef Coordinator started the Training session by giving an insight on WASH in schools. Different Water Quality Experts of PCRWR presented their lectures on Rain Water Harvesting System, Safe Drinking water and WASH management in schools followed by group presentation activity. Ms. Saiqa Imran, Director Water Quality PCRWR concluded the training session and distributed certificates among training participants.
