Meeting Of Pakistan National Committee On Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (PNC-IHP) Of UNESCO & Stakeholder Consultation On IWRM Implementation Guidelines For Pakistan 19th November, 2020

A meeting of Pakistan National Committee on Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme of UNESCO and Stakeholder Consultation on IWRM Implementation Guidelines for Pakistan was organized at PCRWR Headquarters, Islamabad on 19th November, 2020. The meeting was Chaired by Convener of the Committee, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman, PCRWR. About 35 participants from the member and stakeholder organizations participated in the meeting and consultation session. Chairman, PCRWR in his opening remarks welcomed all the participants and shared the progress on PNC-IHP during the year. Ms. Patricia McPhilip, Director UNESCO, appreciated the progress of PCRWR and extended UNESCO’s cooperation. Mr. Ahmad Kamal, Chairman, Federal flood Commission also appreciated the progress on IHP and offered to join hands with PCRWR in groundwater investigation activity. Ms. Saba Saleemi, Assistant Secretary General, PNCU-UNESCO briefed about the progress of cases submitted to UNESCO, Paris. In the consultation session, Mr. Faizan ul Hasan, Director and Ms. Breerah Fatima, Programme Liaison Officer, PCRWR presented draft IWRM Implementation Guidelines for Pakistan. All the participant actively participated in the discussion session by giving their input and feedback on IWRM Guidelines. The meeting was concluded by vote of thanks from Chairman, PCRWR and Chairman, Federal Flood Commission.
