A PoC was signed between PCRWR and KFUEIT at PCRWR headquarters, Islamabad on 14th March ,2023. The main objective of the PoC was close cooperation in the field of Water Management and Conservation. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman PCRWR welcomed and briefed the guests about the mandate and research areas of the organization.
The institutions agreed to collaborate on different projects and initiatives aimed to create awareness related to water management, rainwater harvesting, WASH, water quality and water security. They also agreed to collaborate in research for submitting joint proposals and publications in the field of water management and water quality.
Dr. Muhammad Suleman Tahir, Vice Chancellor, KFUEIT, appreciated the work of PCRWR in the field of water management and water quality. He showed his keen interest to engage the students of KFUEIT to learn about the different interventions of PCRWR in the water sector. He also emphasized developing strong linkages among industry, research organizations and academia. He described that strong collaborative efforts are the need of the hour to tackle the complex issues of water resources.
Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman PCRWR, said that this cooperation will be fruitful for the stakeholders and country to understand the nontraditional security threats like water security, food security, climate change and variability etc. It will also act as a platform for stakeholders to design some policy guidelines to combat these issues.
The PoC was signed by Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) and Dr. Muhammad Suleman Tahir, Vice Chancellor, Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering & Information Technology (KFUEIT).
