High Level delegation visit to Hunza under project Agricultural Water, Energy and Hazard Management in the Upper Indus Basin for Improved Livelihood and Building Resilience (June 27-28, 2018)

A high level delegation comprises Australian High Commissioner H.E. Ms. Margaret Adamson, Federal Secretary Ministry of Food Security and Research, Mr. Fazal Abbas Maken, Chairman, Water Environment Forum Mr. Nisar A Memon, Chairman PCRWR, DrMirzaHabib Ali, Director General PCRWR, Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Head of ICIMOD’s Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, MrFarid Ahmad, Country Director ICIMOD, Dr Abdul Wahid Jasra, Country Director Hashoo Foundation, Ms Ayesha Khan, Mr. FaridAlam Director Programs the Asia Foundation, Assistant Country Manager, UNDP, Director ETI, MrEhsanullah Mir, representatives from WWF and ICIMOD visited project sites located in upper Hunza. The delegation visited the sites of Gulkin, Hussaini, Khyber, Popdun and Morkhun. PCRWR team gave on site briefingonclimate smart agricultural water management interventions. Community representatives also shared their experiences working on these sites and immediate impacts of these interventions on their livelihood. Members of the delegation appreciated the efforts of PCRWR and project partners in undertaking this project.
